The largest increase in food costs since 1981 is taking its toll on many families. According to Statistics Canada, the cost of food this past April was up 8.8% from last year, with the price of fruit and meat up 10%, and pasta up a whopping 20%. On top of this, the cost of shelter is up 7.4%. Many families are struggling to pay the bills and keep food on the table, and prices continue to rise. Making sure that children have access to a nutritious meal every school day has never been so critical. To help, visit https://studentnutritionontario.ca/get-involved/
