Student Nutrition Ontario is thrilled to welcome the Province of Ontario’s increased investment of $5 million, bringing the total annual funding for student nutrition programs to $37.5 million.
This investment comes at a critical time. As food prices rise and more children and youth rely on school nutrition programs, this funding will help ensure students across the province — especially those facing food insecurity — have access to the healthy meals and snacks they need to learn and thrive.
It’s estimated that this support will help deliver over 140 million nutritious meals and snacks to Ontario students this year.
We’re grateful for the province’s ongoing commitment to student well-being and look forward to working with our incredible network of Lead Agencies, schools, and community organizations to build a healthier, brighter future for every child in Ontario.
To build on this momentum, Ontario is relaunching the Healthy Students Brighter Ontario community fundraising campaign — with a goal of raising an additional $5 million to help more students access nourishing food every day.
Every dollar raised will support programs run by dedicated partners and volunteers who prepare and serve food in schools across the province. Together, we can make sure every student has the nourishment they need to reach their full potential. Click here if you’d like to donate today.
