No child should go hungry. But it’s only through the support of our partners, that Student Nutrition Ontario can tackle the issue of child hunger in Ontario.
Partner Spotlight: Breakfast Club of Canada
Breakfast Club of Canada has been working to end child hunger for over 24 years by providing children with access to a nutritious morning meal in a safe and welcoming environment.
Founded by BCC President, Daniel Germain in 1994, BCC started as a school breakfast program at École primaire Lionel-Groulx in Longueuil, Quebec in an effort to address the alarming number of children in the community going to school hungry.
The club has expanded nationally, and now supports 1,600 programs feeding over 200,000 students every day.
Student Nutrition Ontario and Breakfast Club of Canada have been working together to support Ontario students for over 10 years.
BCC is one of SNO’s major supporters, providing financial and in-kind support that directly benefits thousands of Student Nutrition Programs across Ontario – ensuring children are well-fed and can learn at school. It is through the efforts of BCC’s major fundraising campaigns and corporate partnerships – that BCC is able to raise the funds needed to run SNO Student Nutrition Programs.
Fundraising is year-round, and back-to-school is a key time for BCC campaign initiatives. There are two exciting fundraising campaigns that launch in September, Walmart Canada and Costco Wholesale Canada. These two in-store point of sale campaigns are responsible for a significant amount of funds allocated by the Club in Ontario and across Canada.
The dates of the Walmart and Costco campaigns:
Walmart – September 13th to October 5th.
Costco – September 10th to September 17th
Please visit your local Walmart or Costco Store during these dates to support your local Student Nutrition Programs.
Since inception, BCC has served approximately 250-million breakfasts to Canadian children.
Student Nutrition Ontario is proud to call Breakfast Club of Canada a major partner and friend.
